Ninety-one adults (all female) were presented with 5 different pictures as stimuli and gave a free description of their impressions of the pictures. Text mining by KH Coder extracted characteristic words for each picture and revealed that, although the pictures were of the same title, their impressions differed greatly depending on the composition and touch of the picture. The results of the correspondence analysis suggested that two components, "staticactive" and "simple-decorative," could be used to describe the characteristics of picture books.
