内容記述 This study was conducted to improve the curriculum manageability and implementation skills of students who want to become Yogo teachers, and to improve the resilience skills of children in after-school children’s clubs through online-based initiatives. The aim of the study was to identify the learning and effects of the initiative on the students and the children.
With regard to the curriculum manageability and implementation skills of the students who are aiming to become Yogo teachers, most of the students felt that this experience would be beneficial for them in their upcoming practical training and when they become teachers. Students were able to experience the importance of implementing lessons and activities that are adapted to the actual situation of the children. It was also beneficial to be able to experience instruction online, which is difficult to experience without face-to-face training. Also like Abe (2022), it was clear that, to some extent, the same degree of learning could be achieved using online as when conducted face-to-face (2). In addition, the students’ preparation of the “Power Points” and videos for the on-line instruction gave them knowledge about the new teaching materials, which was considered to be more than they would have had in a face-to-face training.
Secondly, with regard to the effects of the lessons on the children who attended them, most of the feedback was positive with regard to their understanding of the contents implemented, so it is possible to assume that the content was generally not too overwhelming. Some comments were also written about the levels of understanding and for future use, such as “I now understand how irritable and frustrated I feel” and “I now know when to breathe deeply”. That would contribute to the improvement of children’s resilience capacities. In the near future, we will work with childcare workers at after-school children’s clubs to carry out ongoing guidance and to repeat online-based lessons and reviews on a more regular basis. Throughout this process, we will study the children’s use of the knowledge, as well as other information gained in lessons, to clarify more about their resilience skills.
